Onboarding is not paperwork. It is the moment where the promise made during Attract is either confirmed or broken.

The Join moment carries more signal per hour than any other point in the circle. Employees arrive with an expectation shaped entirely by Attract. Front stage, back stage and systems must agree. Where they disagree, new joiners learn that the organisation says one thing and does another — a lesson that takes years to unlearn.
